Mississippi County, Arkansas Economic Opportunity Commission (MCAEOC) is committed to alleviating poverty and assisting low-income individuals and families to secure knowledge, skills, and opportunities to become self-sufficient and lead lives of dignity.

Through its neighborhood services centers and special projects, MCAEOC provides a community-based system of service provision to and advocacy for the poor to meet their needs and to enhance the quality of their lives, regardless of race, religion, sex, age, handicap, or national origin. MCAEOC provides some services directly and refers people to other available services. Some of MCAEOC's activities focus on meeting the immediate and basic needs of the poor (e.g., food and shelter); other activities facilitate long term effects (e.g., education and employment).
